Hi Nokia,

Am am hardcore fan of S40 Series Nokia mobiles. Am currently using Nokia 7610 Supernova. Me started using nokia phone wayback 2003, then i was a college student. 

List of phone  i have used in these periods.
1. Nokia 8250
2. Nokia 3315
3. Nokia 6610i
4. Nokia 6600
5. Nokia 3310 Classic
6. Nokia 7210 classic
7. Nokia 5310.

Looking forward i wanna  buy a new phone in the same series(S 40) with Wifi, A-GPS, 3G and Good Touch screen(Optional). Phone should neither be too large nor too heavy, should be less than Rs.10,000.

Will you be able to provide me a phone with the following options in a short while ........

Difficulties with Nokia...

Nokia is Operator centric and not customer centric. Since u have been voted as the best brands in India for the third time in row, u r now making efforts to change to customer choices. You were never pro-active in innovation.

Never ready to introduce new models what the market is actually looking for. You introduced Dual SIM mobile in India after the market has been captured by the Local indian Vendors. But to my dismay, you introduced such a low profile model which will never be able to compete with other dual sim phones in the market.

Why am not interested in Symbian Operating system............ ?

1. Its Operating system  is very slow and pretty outdated.
2. Phone hangs too often ----receving a call , during a call , when second call is coming in calling waiting modes, during browsing......... This problems are with the symbain OS for the past five years and its still going on. Nodoubt that you never made any attempts to improve ur OS and we know clearly u r losing ur smart phone market only because of this only.( We have tested this in nokia 5230, E71, E72).
3. I had a horrific experience in using the Nokia 6600, one which i hate to the core. it was a sheer waste of money.It never worked properly. I have go to nokia service centre too often for installing its operating system again and again. You people neither replaced it with a new for the faulty one though still am nokia fan by default.....?
4. Nokia is not interested in providing a factory installed anti-virus program for Symbian.

Further if u r taking too much time to reply to our queries, we are also in the process of testing the other vendors.
We have tested a couple of models in Sony erricson, if u r not able to provide a quality solution at the earliest, we will be chasing them for a better solution.

Don't think of capturing the smart phone market. It has been already captured by two giants Apple and blackberry whose basic intention to serve high end corporate customers.Be a Rock solid Star in ur own way, provide cost effective, feature rich phones to the Indian customers. Don't  think that S40 doesn't have enough applications to be supported. Applications are secondary when chosing the mobiles. Primarily it should be feature rich for the Enthuastic Indian Customers.

What you look for is technically possible by the recent developments of the S40 platform, but I doubt that Nokia will release such a feature-full device in the lower-mid tier. Phones with these features are usually designed around Symbian. 

But who knows, maybe your request will be heard by them...

I have just looked into all the happenings in C6. Indeed C6 is a good phone(Just as a Hardware). The problem pops up with the software(Symbian) this Nokia makes. This problem lies in every Symbian Smart Phone Nokia 

makes.

They themselves proclaim Smart Phones but in reality, people who are buying smart phones are very 

foolish in nature.

There was an article in Economic times which says that  Nokia MD Shivakumar says Bleak future for Local 

mobile players. But as we see they are making good inroads in the toughest  competetion, we see a bleak future 

for nokia not only in India but also in the other markets. This is the reason Nokia's present CEO has been pushed 

out and gave way for the New one.

Nokia has this smart phone problem ever since it created this S60 or Symbian platform.   Nokia is hardly aware of 

the problems faced by the customers who are purchasing the so called Smart Phones. 

If you happened to use Apple Iphone or Ipod Touch, you will wonder what actually touch screen means and what 

a business phone is all about. Lot of major corporations have moved there corporate blackberries to HTC 

Android and Apple Iphone for there no non sense  interface.

Atleast now Nokia can learn a lesson.

1. It should improve its S40 lineup with all gizmos like Wifi, GPS, 3G, Touchscreen, Minimum 3.15 Megapixel cam 

with Flash, 3.5 MM audio jack and Qwerty Keypad in slider phone with weight less then 100gms and a Rapid 

ultra fast processor for operations costing less than 10K in Indian rupees.

2.It can also bring in android platform for its Smartphone which is a open source having good number of  users.

Hi Nokia, No One has replied to my Questions..... No Information from your side  too. Why nokia took so much time to introduce two sim models when local vendor are introducing four sims in a single phones. Even Airtel is going to introduce three sim in a single phones in a short while from now. What is the reply from Nokia for the growing demand for Good Phones. Will it be able to deliver S40 series feature rich phones in a short while......................?

I have read the Bloomberg  article about the Downfall of Nokia.  Indeed its a fantastic article to read about nokia's failure in smart phone market. 

Repeated all through these articles i have told you several times that your age old Symbian has been failing inadvertantly. 

Why don't we install S40 interface in all the Symbian phones like Nokia 5230,5800 and so on. Customers will be at liberaty to choose  what interface they want...

Will nokia will listen to these idea..... can we look for a change in this area.....

 Thanks for Replying to my Query. Am writing this content to all the Nokia 

High end customers to avoid purchasing the symbian OS unless you are expert in handling any nuance created by a Symbian phone and at the end of the day you will seacrhing for answers in end user forum. Every Nokia phone installed with Symbian is problem to the customer, for which no good solution has been found by . On looking into the customer forum am very much upset over the compliants poured by the customers, after customers investing so much money in nokia phones which never understands customers expectation, customers growing need and much more.

Unless they improve, they can't succeed in the intensely fought mobile handset phone market. Yesteday i have 

been given an opportunity to test the creative Mobiles. Indeed they have an OS which seems to less  Non Sense 

then the Symbain.

Its welcome sign to see Nokia C3-01 Touch and Type  and Nokia X3-02 Touch and Type in S40 Series. But  both Lack GPS which is very vital for mobiles nowadays. Though the screensize is ok, there resolution is very Poor. Nokia X3-02 does not have LED Flash for taking Snaps. Though C5 comes with Quick office and PDF reader, we do not see any such things in these two phones. Why S40 is lacking so behind the scences. Why Nokia is not interested in improving its S40 which is its Bottom line and much sorted phone in every part of the world.

So our Wishlist for new S40 phone continues with Nokia. What's Next Nokia....

Still No Improvements from Nokia..... We are asking Nokia to improve your Bottom line in a price sensitive market. But still nokia is lagging behind. Why Sirji, what is the exact problem. Your not able to compete in the market. Your key market is captured by the Small time vendors. You were never Smart to capture the smart phone Market. what is your plan of action now. Kindly Note our Sincere Observation's and remediation plan for your Growth.

1. Start planing and producing Ultra Slim Phones ie... Less than 10mm. This should be adhered too strictly.

2. Phones costing More Than Rs 10,000 should have the option of loading any mobile operating system, which is available in the market at no extra cost. Example: Customers should have the choice and liberaty to load S40, S60, Apple OS,Windows 7 Mobile or Andriod. Nokia should unbundle the phone and its interface. if you see at the end of the day you'r selling only a product.

3. Cost of the phones less than Rs.7000 can have 256K colors, but above that level it should have only 16M colors.

4. Don't make any phones beyond Rs.20,000 as apple and blackberry already conquered the Smart phone market.  Too many models in that lot will endanger your own survival. So no more R&D in that  Space.

5. Standard Things in a mobile to look for

a. All phones should be 3G enabled(HSDPA, 7.2 Mbp is more than enough)

b. RAM both in S40 & S60 Should be 512 RAM & 1Ghz Processor speed ( ARM processor is very cheap in Market)

c. Wifi Should Be a standard feature in mobile as in the case of Laptop.(Since Most of the Indian homes are Wifi enabled.)

d. Camera Minimum Requirement  5 MP, 2592 x 1944 pixels, autofocus, LED flash and above

e. Opera Mini Autoconfigured to work in 3G, GPRS and wifi.

f. 3.5 MM Jack for Audio need to be standardized for Mobiles.

g. GPS feature and Google Maps, Digital compass

h. Document editor (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), PDF viewer

i. Should not be weighing more than 100gms....

For your information, virus in smartphone is nonesense. I knew that some phone vendor would tell you that your phone is infected by virus when it's running slow or hang but let me tell you that technically virus in smartphone is very very rare. And they often served as a prank apps more than a true 'virus'. Most of those so called virus by phone vendor are actually bug in the software itself. So your suggestion of anti virus is simply not true.
S40 is good, but it's all depend on the user. In my opinion, the lack of multitasking in s40 is a deal breaker to me. Maybe to some user, especially iPhone fans would say that multitasking isn't that useful afterall but my first phone, which is a feature phone (sony ericsson w810), the multitasking capability really proves to be very practical in daily use. For example when someone text you when you are using an app.

Nokia should seriously consider implant multitasking in s40 phone. Every sony ericsson feature phone has that feature.

Hi I Have Just Got C3(qwerty Key Pad) A week Ago since my Nokia 7650 Supernova fell into water. C3 is only Phone s40 Series with Qwerty  Keypad and comes with Wifi. It has lot of problems with its wifi. It loses its stability too often means it gets itself switched off atleast twice daily.
