How do you adjust the power saver settings on the Nokia 2730 - I can't find where it is??
This phone's screen goes blank after 25 secs ... even if the screensaver is on??

Hi there, I have exactly the same problem with mine, along with a few others. Rest assured you are not alone. I have been waiting for Nokia to respond to this problem for 3 - 4 weeks!!! It is extremely irritating not knowing whether the phone is on or not without having to keep pressing a key to find out. The screensaver option is available so it should work.
Also annoying is that if you have a missed call the phone does not alert you in any way whatsoever. A flashing light would be an idea. Are you listening, Nokia??????
My thoughts are that this power saving idea of Nokia's which is also a problem on other models e.g. 6700 (See discussions on that model) is so that they can boast a long battery stand-by time, but like you I would rather have a screensaver.

Hi all,
today I also got my new Nokia 2730 and the first thing I was also wondering was how to switch off this stand by/power saving mode.
This topic is now about 6 weeks old and no answer from a Nokia support colleague?!?!?
This is a very annoying "feature"... could someone from Nokia please comment on that?
Thanks & best regards!

Like you guys, I too have a 2730 purchased only one week ago on which the screensaver fails to work. As the function is available via the menu system, surely there must be a fault/bug in the firmware that actually enables the screensaver when set. I don't wear a watch and it's so annoying having to 'wake the phone up' every time to see what the time is.
Has anyone managed to get the screensaver operational on this model yet at all? I am wondering if the phone needs a hard reset (as some of the older models did when things didn't quite work properly) but I don't know how to do a reset on one of these - yet!
Surely someone at Nokia reads these forums and could at least acknowledge that there seems to be a problem with this function - is it just a question of a firmware update or whatever? At least let us all have a comment, pleeeeaase!!!

The 2730 cannot be hard reset. Its an s40 basic phone and thus cannot be hard reset. As for the "blinking lights", I have an s40 phone with such (5610), but the settings is that it either blinks all the time or it does not.
To turn off sleep mode, go to Menu>Settings>Display>Sleep Mode. Turn it off. The Power Saver Mode is right next to it. One warning though, this may hamper battery life to a large extent.

Hello there
I have tried to turn off the Sleep mode as you suggest but there is no option within "Display" to do this on my phone. There are numerous other options to choose however.
As I said in previous thread the only option is to select "Time out" but the maximum that can be selected is 25 seconds, anything longer does not work. The "screensaver" will work when the display goes off but as i said only for 25 seconds then the screen goes blank.
What is the point in having a screensaver which stays on for only 25 seconds?
Why can't Nokia do what they have done on previous models e.g. 6021 where a dimmed digital clock is displayed in stand-by mode.

I should say that I dont have exactly the same phone, but my s40 phone (5610), once the screen saver goes out I have a dimmed digital clock on screen. A lot of s40 phones I know have that feature. Hmm, maybe you should try updating the firmware?

I've just updated my 2730C to the latest version 09.41 and I realized that there is no more screensaver option.

Exactly what happened when i upgraded my phone.
But when i bought it, the screen saver was and still is in the specifications
I think that nokia might consider our rights and fix this nasty problem
