Re: 6301 latest firmware update issue

I've not had one of the text message for a couple of days now....

For good measure, I've just tried a Software Update - 9.40 is up again - there wasn't an upgrade available a couple of days ago. I'm not going to go through all of the pain of an upgrade again if the main problem has been sorted out.

Re: 6301 latest firmware update issue

Interestingly I've just received an email and a text advising that there is a new version avaialble, & I see 9.40 is back up. I'll try it in case they've fixed the s/ware, although it's bad practice if they haven't changed the version number.

I was still getting the MyFaves text messages as of this morning when switching on the phone, I'll try the update & let you know what happens.

Re: 6301 latest firmware update issue

Well I've just installed version 9.40 again and the problem appears to have been fixed as I've not received the text messages re the MyFaves service after powering off/on the phone a few times.

Looks like they have fixed the software but NOT changed the version number! I'll leave the thread open for a couple of days before marking it as resolved just to see what happens. Let me know if it works for you.

Re: 6301 latest firmware update issue

I've since had a message left from Mo at Nokia UK Technical saying they have now got some info for me, so yes quite a good team effort in getting this resolved.

Re: 6301 latest firmware update issue

Do you get any error codes if there is an issue connecting to WiFi/UMA? I've flashed my phone ( 6301b) with the latest v09.40 and right now I can't connect to WiFi. The message is: network connection failed. Rolling back to the original firmware (T-MO USA) I was still not able to connect but at that time I got code J0011.7 It has something to do with some certificate and re-flashing the phone with the original FW again took care of the issue.

The WiFi only feature in v09.40 FW  is something I could really use, but I need to figure out how to get the updated phone working on the T-Mo network.

Any ideas, suggestions?

[ Edited ]

I have a Nokia 6301 and am with T-Mobile.

After updating to V08.22, I can no longer access WiFi.  I get error J0011.7 no matter what I do.

When will there be an update from Nokia to fix this?  My phone is under warranty, and I would love to save them the trouble of having to fix it for me (e.g. revert it to the older firmware version).

So many people have this problem!  Check out the T-Mobile user forum.

Nokia and T-Mobile should be all over this.  Any moderators from Nokia have any updates on the work in progress?
