When will Firmware v21 be available for 0587240 (UK) ???

Please Nokia employee (if any on this forum)  kindly indicate an ETA for this to be available on NSU...

 I desperately need RAM .... pleaseeee ...

I currently have less than 10 MB => 

- theme are no longer running (back to default black),

- Ringtone is Nokia default,

- and I can hardly run any apps...

- When apps loads, they take ages... phone close apps for lack of memory...

- I can still make and receive calls ...

Currently, my £500.00 "flagship" N97 is as good as a £17.98 Nokia 1208 ! (I can call !)

and yes I keep clearing all my private date before closing the web browser and install apps on E: whenever possible / allowed. 

But this is not possible with Maps 3.3 , Nokia messaging, Ovi Store, Adobe LTE reader etc etc ...

 happytoon v21 wont release memory it justs make your phone better .... to release more memory do the following (at your own risk but loads of forum members use this method)

format your e drive

back your phone contacts and calendar up plus anything else you wanna save (onto memory card)

HARD RESET the phone by pressing caps,space, delete keys and starting the phone..Keep all these keys pressed till you get the country selection menu..you will get around 65MB (Phone Memory) free

go into installed applications and remove them all ....

re install all you can on e drive

move your messages to e drive (under settings for messages / other)

download new ovi and ensure that it installs on e drive - once logged in go to settings

i have nokia maps new sytem installed on c drive plus bbc i player (i find it works better on c drive) and I still have 45mb free on c drive ,..,...

I have my N97 since last June (a few return trip with Nokia Care) and I went through this procedure a few times now... It takes me nearly half a day to reload everythings (maps, music, podcast etc on E). Contact and Calendar are on Ovi, so very straight forward.

Also, I didn't find a way to install Nokia Messaging, Adobe Reader, Ovi Store, Mail for Exchange etc on E rather than C drive...

By default, ovi store install apps on E.

My messages/email are also on E.

Yesterday, I removed Ovi Maps 3.03 and re-install from Nokia update, I still have over 9 MB for "Nokia Maps" on C: How to you install it on E :

I was simply hoping than v21 is a "clean" install with only what is required for the firmware to run, remove old stuff from the Rom (such as Nokia Maps 3.0) etc...

Also, once V21 was available (if ever!) I would have done a full hard reset anyway...

I would prefer not to have to do it twice, so I need to know if and when they will release for 0587240...

Any way, I may indeed pay yet again another visit to Nokia Care...

I think this thread is completely useless... Nokia is already advertising the new version of Symbian but us guys who payed a sh*t load of money (600 euro) for the "flagship" phone... have to beg for some freakin software updates that is supposed to fix the bugs that their "flagship" product still has... besides the weak hardware, we're stuck with that.

I mean what kind of customer service is that?!?! ...and I still didn't get an answer to my previvous question on page 4....

-try to uninstall your software updater and re-install it

-if I were you, i'd backup my phone and do a hard reset too

-use Nokia PC Suite Cleaner 7 after uninstalling nokia pc suite to ensure that there's no old files in your system, and disable your system firewall too

Hi there

Update 21.0.045 available to me and installed successfully yesterday 22/02/2010. Ovi Suite showed it as available, also found it with phone S/W Update and PC Suite. Installed with PC Suite.

All fine so far.
