until now i do not see the new update available for my product code thru the "can i update" field. still v20.

 

however when i opend the SW update app on my phone something prompted me that a phone software is available.

 

so i connected my phone to my pc and opened nsu. voila (boring) it tells me that a new update is indeed available for my phone, the infamous v21.

 

then and there, i was able to update my phone. a 133.7mb download.

 

so, my advice to those who havent found there luck in the "can i update" field by entering their product codes, why not try directly thru the nsu on your pc.

 

p.s. i disabled my anti-virus and firewall before doing the update.

HEY GUYS I HAVE FOUND A KINK WITH NOKIA FOR UK

 

I HAVE TRIED OVI AND MY PHONE UPDATES BUT BOTH ARE SAYING -----NO UPDATES AVALIBLE 

BUT IF U GO TO NSU AND TRI IT WORKS AND WILL ALLOW U TO UPDATE TO V21 I'M GUNNA TRI IT NOW AND I WILL LET U ALL KNOW HOW IT GOES

Have u tried NSU (not ovi or your phone ) its the only 1 that has come up for me

Yes, I checked OVI Suite, Nokia Software Update, device update option from handset. All responding back with "no new update available". I cannot install new OVI map 3.x as it requires firmware v20.

Cannot update my unbranded N97 white German with product code 0586702.

 

 

Still stuck with v.1.X since last year... please help!!

I thought maybe Nokia would prioritise the phones that they sell directly (i was mistaken). I just don't  know why nokia does not release the firmware universally for that model. We just want a stable phone with all modern features. Im only waiting for a phone with loads of apps to get a descent camera an bye bye Nokia. You are lacking behind

I have Code: 0587245 (Country: The Netherlands) as well, but no update.

Other ones received the update already.

Isn't that strange?

ROM 507, using windows 7 64 bit, cannot download the new software to my phone, good thing thing is I no longer use the phone as my main phone, if I did i would be in a whole lot of trouble right now.

the "can i update?" does not show the latest v21 for my 0585680 pc

 

suprisingly, nsu does. i now have the update.

 

does anyone experience this?

Thanks, I just called nokia hotline reguarding my product code, it's still stuck at v1

I'm still stuck at v.12. I understand the de-branding story but what I don't get is WHY? I mean aren't all the N97's identical, hardware and software wise? Why aren't the updates available to all at the same time? What does the update of my device have to do with my carrier or the continent I'm on? Why would I loose my warranty if I change my product code? I had to wait months for v12 to.

WHYYYYY?!?!?!?!?!

Can anyone answer me?

My N97 is from Germany, I'm currently in Romania (Voda. carrier)


help...

 

I'm seriously considering changing brands... after 10+ years of being a Nokia fan... It's really sad... that a 600€ phone is so weak hardware wise and so buggy software wise.... :smileysad:
